Heir to the Nintendo Gamecube, its 101.63 million units sold made it the most popular home console of the seventh generation and Nintendo 's second, surpassed only by the Nintendo Switch . Wii was the main competitor to Microsoft 's Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 by Sony

Wii U is a video game console produced by Nintendo. It is the successor to the Wii although it does not replace it in some countries and was the first eighth generation table console to be placed on the market. Its main competitors are Sony's Playstation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One
