The console has been available since November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America  and March 23, 2007 in Europe, Middle East, Australia, Asia, Latin America, North Africa

PlayStation 3 was produced in three different versions: Fat , Slim And Super Slim .

It is part of the seventh generation of consoles and competes commercially with Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360
