Xbox 360 It's a video game console produced by Microsoft with the collaboration of IBM , ATI Technologies and Samsung and succeeded the first Xbox . The console was officially shown on MTV on May 12 , 2005 , with detailed game and launch information released a month later at E3. of the same year. It entered the market on November 22, 2005 in North America and on December 2 in Europe and December 10 in Japan . In the first sales period, stocks ran out in all countries where the console was put on the market, except Japan. Production finally ended on April 20, 2019, just over 10 years after launch

The console is part of the seventh gaming generation and challenges the Playstation 3 market by Sony and Wii by Nintendo .

Most of the major features of the Xbox 360 are integrated into the Xbox Live service, which allows console users to access online gaming features, download arcade games, game demos, trailers, TV shows, music and movie. The Xbox Live service also offers, in specific regions, third-party applications for streaming television programs such as Mediaset Premium in Italy , Netflix and ESPN in the United States or Sky Go in the UK .

The console underwent several hardware updates and, following the same strategy undertaken by Sony for its consoles, three versions were produced, in chronological order the classic one, followed by the Slim and finally from And , the latter presented on May 21, 2013 at the same time as the Xbox One .
